Demonstrate the diffraction pattern off of small spheres of lycopodium powder with visible laser light.

Instructions

For lecture use, pull out the diffraction optics bench. Put the lycopodium slide on the tray, and image the diffraction pattern on a far wall.

For export, give the instructor the lycopodium slide and a hand held green laser pointer.

Instructions
The lycopodium "sticks" the the surface of the slide when you exhale onto the slide and then brush it on a pile of lycopdium.
Note: lycopodium powder is a level 2 fire hazard because the fine particles are flammable.
