5N10.62 - Polarization at Radio Frequencies - Solid States
To demonstrate radio waves can be polarized using a solid state transmitter.
Connect the antenna to the solid state transmitter. Plug in the transmitter into an on/off switch. Pull out the receiver with the attached bulb detector. Provide the reflection bar to show how polarized waves are reflected.
Turn on the transmitter. Stand about a foot away from the transmitter with the receiver in hand. When parallel, the bulb should light up and when perpendicular, the bulb goes out. A reflection bar is also provided to show how reflections effect the polarized wave and the amount transmitted.
