Objective

Demonstrate the force between two adjacent parallel current-carrying wires.

Assembly Instructions

Instructions
Two rigid parallel wires, one painted orange and one white, are suspended so they can swing apart. Use the momentary contact switch to close the circuit thus causing a current in the wires. The currents in the wires are in the opposite direction, so the wires will repel each other. (If the currents were in the same direction, the wires would attract each other.)
