Instructions
A conducting rod is hung in the gap of a large magnetron magnet from two leads so that it is free to swing as a pendulum. The 6-V DC battery or power supply is connected in series with the switch to the apparatus. The removeable arrow on the rod indicates the direction of the current flow, and N and S are marked on the magnet. Make sure that the battery is connected so that the current flows in the direction of the arrow.
