Demonstrate energy storage in a capacitor and conversion of electrical potential to a magnetic pulse to kinetic energy of a dart.
InstructionsMake sure that the power supply positive lead goes to the power relay. When discharging the gun, make sure that the charge/discharge switch is in the discharge position. The typical target to gun separation is 8 ft. The projectile should be inserted so that the end of it is just flush with end of the barrel.
There are 10 capacitors in parallel @ 11,500 microfarad, that works out to .115F, so Et(180V)= 1863 J
