Title5B10.70 - Model of Field Potential
Objective

To demonstrate how a charged particle will react in an electric field by deforming a rubber sheet and observing particles traveling in the potential space.

StatusAvailable
Assembly Instructions

Set up the Accretion Disk - Attach the feet to the rubber sheet stretched in a wooden frame.  Use the large ball to represent a negative charge.  Use the tennis ball on a stick held in a monopod to represent a positive charge.  Place a camera on a bench rod above the disk to allow the audience to observe the motion of the marbles as they travel in the potential space set up on the rubber sheet.
