5B10.70 - Model of Field Potential
To demonstrate how a charged particle will react in an electric field by deforming a rubber sheet and observing particles traveling in the potential space.
Set up the Accretion Disk - Attach the feet to the rubber sheet stretched in a wooden frame. Use the large ball to represent a negative charge. Use the tennis ball on a stick held in a monopod to represent a positive charge. Place a camera on a bench rod above the disk to allow the audience to observe the motion of the marbles as they travel in the potential space set up on the rubber sheet.
Place the positive and negative charge where desired on the rubber sheet. When ready, pour the marbles into the space and observe the motion they take while in the potiential field.
