4E20.20 - Boyle's Law
The demonstration utilizes a nearly frictionless piston with an air-tight seal to demonstrate the pressure-volume relationship of Boyle's Law.
InstructionsFill the 4-inch diameter glass dish with colored water. Place one end of the flexible tube into the graduated cylinder and invert the cylinder into the dish, clamping it into position. Suck on the tube to withdraw enough air to raise the level of the liquid to about ¾ the height of the graduated cylinder and remove the tube. Place the graduated cylinder and dish under the bell jar.
