3B50.u1 - Interference Between Two Speakers
Show an interference pattern made by two coherent sources.
Connect a pair of speakers to a function generator with banana cables and banana plug multi-adapters and set it to a 2500 Hz sine wave. The speakers should be 1 meter apart.
Turn the function generator on to 2500 Hz. Have students plug one ear and move their heads left and right (also up/down, and backward/forward). They will hear the minima and maxima produced by the interference of the two coherent sources. The wavelength is on the order of ~8cm.

A visualization of what the sound waves are doing.
For a 2500 Hz sound, the wavelength is approximately 14 cm
