Assembly Instructions

Instructions
The large Jacob's ladder consists of wooden bars fastened to a steel tape which can hang from the ceiling in either of the lecture halls. If the end of the ladder is given a quick twist, a wave will propagate all the way up to the top and be reflected at the fixed end. If you immediately release the free end after starting the pulse, the return pulse will reflect at the free end 180° out of phase from the way it reflected from the fixed end. The ceiling hook and lift cable are permanently mounted in the catwalk.
