To demonstrate the probabilities of coin tosses in a useful student involved way.
Obtain sack of pennies.
Distribute pennies to students or toss pennies yourself.
The probability of a coin flip being heads or tails is 1/2. The probability of a coin toss with numerous flips is P = (1/2)^n, where n is the number of tosses. The odds a coin will land heads 8 times in a row is P = (1/2)^8 = 1/256.
