Operation Instructions

Overview
The diffraction of DNA is a famous example of an important life science technique based on physics principles. This demonstration conceptually describes how the characteristic patterns in the image indicate the structure of B-DNA. Biological molecules are being identified today using this technique, and are inventoried at the Protein Data Bank.

Analysis/Information

Overview

The characteristic ratios and structure of DNA can be identified from the diffraction pattern of incident light on the structure.
